Guidelines for the Implementation of an In-Office Audit System for Continued Competence

The three-part publication, accepted by the General Assembly of the American Association of Dental Boards in October 1999, provides guidelines for agencies utilizing this methodology to access continued competency. The booklet outlines a specific protocol for conducting the audit. Assignment and calibration of evaluators is discussed. Standards of documentation for all areas of dental assessment and care are presented. Templates for data collection are presented and a suggested scoring system is included. A licensing agreement must be completed and submitted with the order form.
